State FFA Degree Application Tips
When listing five quality activities above the chapter level, be sure
• ALC, 360, and State Convention are only counted once regardless of how many years attended
• WLC and National Convention are only counted once regardless of how many years attended
• Competing in CDE events can only count once per Career Development Event (For example, participating in multiple Floriculture contests only counts as one activity. Including invitational/practice contests.)
• Any fair exhibits only count once per species regardless of level of competition (invitational/jackpot, county, district, state fair etc)
• Leadership events only count once per event regardless of level & regardless of how many years participated in
• It is always acceptable to list more than 5 activities.
When documenting community service, be sure the total hours is derived from at least TWO different activities. National Day of Service during National FFA Convention can be counted as a separate activity from the convention OR as community service hours, but not both.
